May 2011 With some afternoon and evening Rain the Dorado Bite should be getting into bigger daily catch numbers for the Quepos Fishing Fleet in the next few days. The Sailfish bite numbers decreased a bit with the blue water line moving around like crazy. We did have a couple big Marlin at the start of the month with no complaints from Anglers on that! The inshore bite for Roosterfish has been good for some inshore crews.And several really big Snook have been caught in the mouth of the river north of Quepos.

Quepos fishing reports in April were fantastic for Offshore anglers here in the height of our Costa Rica Fishing Season. Quepos Fishing Charters Boats were Blessed during the Holy Week with a Marlin Bite every Day. With the 32' raising and releasing Costa Rica Marlin on its last two days offshore and the Quepos Fishing Fleet 33' released a 300 lb. Blue Marlin anglers have been on their toes at the call of those famous words... Marlin, Marlin, Marlin. Our fleet out of Los Suenos and Flamingo and Tamarindo have had terrific reports as well. With the 2011 Costa Rica Classic Results determined here in Quepos Costa Rica as the 2 day Billfish Tournament held on the 11th and 12th of March came to a close with 14 Paticipating Quepos fishing Boats, it was a close race right down to the wire. With a total of 157 Sailfish and Marlin released making it a great Annual Costa Rica Fishing Tournament. The event was a huge success with paticipants staying at Tournament Sponsored Hotel La Mariposa where both opening and award dinner and ceremonies were held. Boats left from Marina Pez Vela both mornings where they boasted their new top end facilities to the participants. Flora de Cana Rum Company was a participating Sponsor of the event as well along with many other companies.The average over the last week and a half has been double digits for most of our Boats here in Quepos Costa Rica making the fishing reports those that all anglers seek and what made me a fan of Sportfishing here in Quepos. With most of the Quepos Fleet out there fishing, our clients are returning with great numbers on releases of Costa Rica Sailfish.
